Lake the Post

At Northwestern University, it refers to old tradition of dragging the field goal posts from the football field to Lake Michigan in order to dump them. This happened in the period of time when NU had one of the worst football teams in the nation, and laking the posts was done during the occasional victory or notable defeat.

Music that is as heavy, nasty and edgy as hardcore but not as one-dimensional and features exponentially less use of the words "respect" and "hate" in its lyrics and content... It has nothing whatsoever to do with Taking Back Sunday or Dashboard Confessional; defining "Post Hardcore" in such a manner displays profound ignorance of even the slightest notion of what constitutes this phrase's crucial rootword "Hardcore" and anyone providing such a definition that includes the above-mentioned bands wouldn't know "Hardcore" if it walked up and punched them in the teeth while wearing brass knuckles or if Sheer Terror was playing a live show in their mother's basement.

Someone who has gone from pretard to full retard and come full circle to being 'normal' again. A person who used to be incapable of normal life functions, but now is considered stable. Few people actually make the progression to post-tard. Post-tards are few and far between, but they exist.

Bill Clinton, Whitney Houston, Charlie Sheen

Whitney Houston is the classic example of a post-tard because of her drug-related past and her re-entering into normal society.
