An emo is someone who hates themselves and puts themselves down, they feel more emotion than anyone writing these sucky definitions. They can't control their pain so that makes them feel as though they have to hurt themselves even more. It's like feeling like shit and wanting to get drunk, instead of getting drunk they chose to cut or burn themselves. They think that everyone hates them and they don't deserve to live and a lot of emos will end up killing themselves. Take this from someone who's gone through this before, it's not just a genre of music or something to be made fun of, it's a real thing mostly associated with depression. And It's not that they don't feel emotion, they feel too much emotion and it overwhelms them.
