Mandala Effect

Named after the famous Mandala pattern of art this conspiracy theory Is when a large group of people remember something being a certain way, but when people go back and look at it, it has changed or is gone in this universe with no reasoning other than "it's always been like that"

Two popular theories on the Mandala effect are:
Time Travel- Some believe that times travels have come back to the past and changed one little thing that ended up changing many other things kinda like the butterfly effect Think about it the future has already happened so even if time travel is say 1,000 years in the future it has already been done which means time travelers are going back to the past which is our present and changing little things.

Parallel Universe- Others believe that sometime in the last decade or two the world went through a black hole or that our "original world" ended and now we are in this Parallel Universe where something changed in the process of switching or going through the black hole. (most think in the years 2000 or 2012 this happened cause many thought the world was gong to end)
Kayla: Do you remember those books we used to read with the family of bears? The Berenstein Bears.

Kayla: No way! I remember that vividly as a kid!
Danielle: Same here!

The Rugged Effect

The Rugged Effect is the phenomenon in which being around the Discord user "RuggedKilla" results in your horniness, zestiness, and gayness being massively amplified. This occurs due to his aura that radiates ungodly amounts of zestiness, gayness, and horniness.

The anime effect

When you watch anime for the first time or are watching a new series jojo's bizarre adventure you may experience an effect which I coined as the 'The anime effect'

Symptoms include:

Can't stop thinking about anime
Your imagination is plagued by anime, for example you may be thinking about killing your annoying teacher. However now you think about it in anime
Everything you do will be experienced as an anime training montage
All thinks you experience will be unconsciously narrated in your head
When you imagine talking to somebody, you may talk in something that resembles Japanese in your head with subtitles
I now have the anime effect bc i just watched jojo

The Cox Effect

The Cox Effect was coined in October 2025. This meme has gone viral social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The term refers to manipulating someones peers into acting like internet celebrity and actor Charlie Cox. These acts may include listening to rock and roll, playing video games like Sea of Thieves, and "dragging a bit."
Mickey: Dude I have really gotten into Metallica and Pearl Jam recently.

Henry: NO! You have fallen under The Cox Effect.😭

John Peel effect

When members of the public excuse a celebrity's crimes or immoral behaviour because they are huge fans of that celebrity, yet criticise someone else for doing exactly the same thing.

It is named after the British disc jockey, John Peel, who admitted to having sex with underage children, and who, after his death, turned out to have got a fifteen year old pregnant, and who started dating two of his wives when they were just fifteen years old. If John Peel had lived longer, he would have gone to prison, but because people like how he was a disc jockey who played interesting music, they overlook that, and there is even a stage at Glastonbury named after him. Conversely, the same people will criticise less appealing celebrities who did less bad things.
People hate Woody Allen, but love Prince who did exactly the same thing and even had a child with his adopted daughter. That's just the John Peel effect.

Sean Connery admitted that he often slapped women around the face to put them in their place, but people cried when he died - that's the John Peel effect.

There's a real John Peel effect going on with David Bowie - he's worse than Rolf Harris, but everyone still loves him.
