propaganda baby

A baby decked out in a particular sports team's merchandise. The propaganda baby is oftentimes dressed by the parents to help bolster support for their favorite teams. Propaganda babies are often found at stadiums, arenas, shopping malls, and sports gatherings around the world.

In rare cases, propaganda babies may also be used to bolster support for political campaigns or other non-sporting ventures.

a modest proposal

A Modest Proposal is when somebody suggests that eating babies might not be such a bad idea. This is taken from the satirical book of the same name written by Jonathan Swift in 1729. He frankly suggested that poor people ought to sell their children as food to the upper class in order to stimulate the economy and bring Ireland out of a sort of depression. Here's an excerpt: "A young healthy child well nursed, is, at a year old, a most delicious nourishing and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve in a fricassee, or a ragoust."

Jane- "That infant child looks delicious. I think we should eat him."

John- "That sounds like a modest proposal to me."

Proper is actually a word you can use all by itself, you can just expostulate "Proper!" and it means something similar to "Wicked!" or "Excellent!" or "Cool!". It is an exclamative word. If something totally cool or awesome happens you just say "Proper!" and it means the same as "Awesome!" or "Cool!", but it is much newer and fresher and better and longer-lasting than those words. Its literal definition is "Perfect". Say this if you want to not only be with it, but way, way ahead of it. Proper.

"You just won the lottery, dude!"
"Proper!"
