It has gained popularity when youtubers like Casey Neistat and Leafyishere have started to use it often in memes
Nowdays there are variations of OK Handsign which include puting it on ur nose,using it to hide ur chin ,using to 420 blaze(puting a blunt between index finger and a thumb)
It has gotten its name when another meme youtuber Pyrocynical used it in a meme fashion depicting it with casey neistat eating fancy food on a 28k dollars plane flight,
