Alessandra Ambrosio, a name as beautiful as the woman it refers to. She is best known for her energetic and charming personality, but is most recognized for her work with Victoria Secret, Rosa Cha, and many more of the world's most famous fashion designers.
Born and raised Erexim (Erechim), Brazil – a non-coastal town close to Uruguay and Argentina – Alessandra still visits her family regularly and calls Erexim her favorite place in the world and her mother (along with Richard Habberley of Elite) as the biggest influence in her life. She now lives in New York and lists California as one of her favorite places to travel. She also owns a home in the Brazilian surfing town of Florianopolis (or Floripa) - on an island connected to the Brazilian mainland.
Alessandra began modeling at the age of 15 at Dilson Stein modeling school in Brazil. There, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest, which eventually led to a contract with Elite Model Management. Her first modeling job was with Brazilian Elle.
Eventually, Alessandra moved to New York and center stage in the world of modeling. Her first big break came courtesy of Guess? when she was featured with her best friend - and fellow model – Ana Beatriz Barros, in the Guess? Millennium Campaign.
Alessandra has taken the fashion world by storm. She regularly ranks as one of the most respected models in the world and scores high on various “sexiest” and “best looking” polls. Her portfolio has grown to include Calvin Klein, Rolex, Ralph Lauren, Escada and, of course, Victoria’s Secret. Her numerous covers across the globe include Glamour, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Victoria’s Secret, Loft Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Arena and Homem Vogue. Her personal favorite shoots are Victoria’s Secret, Guess and Pirelli calendar.
Alessandra loves to exercise. When in New York, she works out about two days a month utilizing the Brazilian art of capoeira. Her regular exercise program also includes Brazilian Butt Lift and Brazilian Tummy Tuck. She is active with volleyball, bodyboarding, snowboarding and inline skating. She is taking up surfing and has in interest in skydiving.
Her other interests include sunglasses and collecting Barbie dolls. She is chocoholic, but knows to cut down before a big show. An avid coffee drinker – up to five cups a day – she finds American coffee stale and not as strong as in Brazil. She also likes to drink tequila and caipirihnas – a native Brazilian drink made from cachaca. Alessandra listens to Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Brazilian singer, Caetano Velozo.
