Devil's Joker

Devil's joker is a term that is similar to the idea of Devil's Advocate. It means an individual has said something out of pocket, and responds with a "I was just kidding!" or some variation of that to worm themselves out of the situation. Unlike Devil's advocate it is not announced prior in the form of "to play devil's advocate," instead it is used as a knee jerk reaction based on the social sceario.
