When your talking to a person and they start going off about a comic book hero or video game and all you can do is nod and pretend you understand what they are saying

Girl 1: Hey! how was your weekend?
Girl 2: Oh fun. i was busy dodging lightning bolts in the thunder plains

Girl 3: wha...?
Girl 2: Oh you see i have to dodge them 200 times in order to get the venus sigil and... (blah blah blah)

Girl 1: oh look there she goes nerding off again

Roughed off

This is a term commonly heard in the federal prison system. It is similar to being jacked for something but often involves less overt force. {To take an item or service from another through intimidation, coercion, or mild force.}

A. Mike roughed that guy's new sneakers off this afternoon.
B. I just got roughed off for that pack of smokes.
C. He wanted fifty for doing that, but I'm just gonna rough that off him.
