Law of Sevens

The theory that when asked to rate something on a scale 1-10, people disproportionately answer "7." Most common in rating people's appearance but applies to all facets of life.
Tony: She's cute -- probably a 7 out of 10.
Jack: Are you sure you're not succumbing to the Law of Sevens?
Tony: You're right, I'd say she's an 8.

Ted’s Law

The law that, in generality and absent mitigating circumstances or context, “the fact that you have to say ‘they’re not that bad’ means that they are that bad.”

First published after extensive research into the sexually available women of Boston, MA in the 2012 Seth MacFarlane film Ted, spoken by the eponymous Ted, whom MacFarlane also voiced.
Ted:
Look, all I'm saying is that Boston women are, on the whole, a paler, uglier sort than women from the elsewheres of life.

John:
That's bullshit. What about Lori? She's hot.

Ted:
No, Lori's from Pennsylvania. That's not a Boston girl.

John:
They're not that bad.

Ted:
See, the fact that you have to say "they're not that bad" means that they are that bad.

Guy watching the movie: So that’s where Ted’s Law comes from!

Walding's Law

Walding's Law is an adage that is best described as:
Paranoia in the development stage of any serious relationship that anything could cause an end to said relationship.
This is typically more frequent in youthful relationships where relationships tend not to last as long as more mature relationships. This being said does not exclude it from happening to mature and professional relationships.
This phenomenon is common within romantic relationships however it may occur outside one, such as in a new social or professional position.
Some examples of Walding's Law may include being worrying that:
1. Anything you do could cause your new romantic relationship to end.
2. Your new partner talking to someone else leading you to believe that they are interested in them.
3. Doing a task incorrectly could cause you to lose your new job.
4. Acting too much like yourself could make a newfound friend to lose interest in your friendship.

etc.
