Acronym, meaning Wind Assisted F*cking Idiot. In common usage in the commercial maritime industry in regards to sailboat owners and their ignorance when in open water.

That WAFI crossed our bow in the middle of the channel nearly causing a collision! He should have stayed moored in the marina.
