A rehearsal for an opera or musical in which the singers rehearse with the orchestra, except the orchestra has been replaced by a backing track.

When is the sitzprobe? Haven't you heard, they replaced the orchestra with a backing track so we're having a shitzprobe instead.

Dip-shitzkrieg dip-shits-kreeg

noun (slang, derogatory, military/humor)

1. The aggressive and reckless act of going to war, escalating conflict, or initiating chaos over something absurdly trivial or stupid.

2. A satirical reference to a situation where emotion, pride, or idiocy overrides logic and diplomacy.

Etymology: Blend of dipshit (a slang insult for a foolish person) + Blitzkrieg (German for “lightning war”).

Example: “Their entire foreign policy is one big dip-shitzkrieg — all bluster, no brains.”
