In 2018 the corporate conglomerate Super League Gaming bought Minehut and for the next 6 years all but drove it into the ground in their failed attempts to make a quick buck like it has been with their other puppet companies like Beam and Metaburst. First they converted the rank system into a monthly subscription model, then the server time limits and file download limits, and not listening to the COMMUNITY. Fortunately, on February 27, 2024, Minehut was sold again to GamerSafer, a company that "provides world-leading identity verification technology" for better safety in the online gaming world. The team at GamerSafer are actual humans and interact with the community on a daily basis.
