Binned

The act of being terminated from one's employment, from most large organizations, where they don't respect people when they are let go. They're handed a package, and often escorted out the door. Tossed out with the trash, so to speak. As in the UK, the term binned means to throw in the trash.

"I really liked my job. Unfortunately, yesterday, I was binned."

Extra alcoholic beverages ordered during open bar to avoid paying for them later

1) If we all order 2 beers each time, we will have a nice binventory after the open bar closes.

2) Hide the binventory, the bouncer is coming by to remove empty cups.

double-binning

When creating a histogram, the error of choosing the number of bins less than the number of distinct values, thus "double-binning" two distinct values into one bin.

S: "Man, I don't know what is wrong with my histogram. Why is there a spike at either end?"
M: "Have you checked for double-binning?"
S: "Ahhhhhhhh"

Came about from an episode of tv series 'Lovejoy' where a bin man, (trash/garbage collector), was seen to rescue an itfc scarf from a bin and wear it for the rest of the episode.

We beat the binners two-nil on Saturday!
