Being forced to contribute to friends' birthday gifts because it would be socially unacceptable to decline.
John: "Hey everyone! Sam's birthday is coming up, let's all contribute to a gift!!!"
Sally: "Sure! I'm in."
Matt: "Me too!"
You: "Same here." (I'm not even close to this person, why am I getting birthday taxed?)

When you pay for something, usually of a small value, that you don't want or is of no value to you, for example asking for no cheese in the drive thru and when you get home you find out there is cheese and is not worrh the trip to return it so you throw it away.

Charlie Tax is a term that was founded in Texas and has slowly become popularized around the USA. A Charlie Tax is essentially when someone is having sex (backshots specifically) and yells out Charlie Tax while recording. It is similar to the Fanum Tax derived from the popular Twitch streamer, AMP Fanum, but instead of taking one's food, the Charlie Tax is taking one's virginity or recording some other kind of sexual intercourse.
Ralph: "Hey did you just hear someone in the other room yell Charlie Tax?"
Ford: "Yes don't you know what that means? It means that he just "taxxed" his partner's virgnity!"
Ralph: "Ok that makes sense now. I remember seeing that trend on social media platforms such as Tiktok and Instagram."
