Oh well, OC is mostly used to talk about someone's characters. It stands for "Original Character".
OC is mostly used in fandoms, like Warrior Cats.
People use OC's as "fursonas/personas" that explain themselves, but Characters can also be made to tell a story, or just because, the person wanted a new character, and so they made one!

Get the OCmug. OC or OoC is not from this millennia. It has been used in many fields for many decades in particular engineering-related circles. I came across it in the 1950s when working in the Electricity generation field. it means "Out of Commission" as in not working. Applied to machinery, electrical, hydraulic, and many other systems or pieces of equipment, large or small. It does not mean “original content” and “original character.” Those are newbie definitions.
