If a "bowl" has a rim it is classed as a deep plate because only plates have rims. If a plate and a bowl have a child that is called a pasta bowl. This is different to a deep plate.

A plate that has been used for food, but isn't so dirty to require washing, so long as you use it for the same kind of meal as it was previously used for.
