YAK. _(Yah + k)_ It translate to YA books people dislike. Mostly the more cliched, tropey and trash side of the YA market. Those who have more fanservice than the book itself, and toxic fandoms. Originated from the mix between the onomatopoeia “yuk” and the acronym of the Young Adult genre YA.

Yak is slang for many words. Used to express hunger, or do Describe yourself or someone else as annoying or if someone looks like a mess. Like a HOT mess. Also, you can use it as a way to ask someone if they are joking.

"Omg, you look so yak rn!"
