A year of fishing. Number of days you fish in a year. For most people comes out to be 117 days including weekends and holidays.

What a good year of fishing. I had a great fishcal year. Was out 117 times. And caught a lot of big fish.

first year

First years is the collective term given to first year secondary school students, typically in Ireland. Usually aged 11/12, they are seen as innocent and naive compared to their fifth or sixth year schoolmates, and are at the bottom of the school food chain.

Phrase used by every sports fans just to hype up a team and claim they will win it all. They usually say it every year.

Me: "I'm telling you, this is actually the Saints year! We're gonna win the Super Bowl! It's Our Year!"

Everybody Else: "Didn't you say that last year?"

Me: "Yeah well, I was just kidding! I'm being for real now though!"

Everybody else: "Man you ain't winning shit!"

Girl of the year is a temporary girlfriend who gets dumped when her bf finds another girl with more favourable characteristics. For example "Somebody younger, with longer hair".

The term comes from a song with the same name by Allie X.

A phrase that a cowboys (or any team that just acquires a new QB/ coach) Fan says every year about 3 weeks before the NFL draft starts. typically is wrong and utterly embarrassing .

John: Hey, Did you see that The cowboys got a new QB??
Jack: Yeah. This is Our year!
John: Yeah.... no
