A Chinese lap dog breed that comes in 3 colours: fawn, black and apricot. The breed seems to be unusually popular in internet memes and pop culture, especially the fawn pug. Milo, Frank and Toby Da Pug are perhaps the 3 most famous pugs.

Pug

Pug, a slang word originating in the uk, is the congealed discharge from the nose commonly known as snot. It is retrieved by inserting the finger into the nostril and gently scraping the contents out with the fingernail. This is a favourite pastime of children and teenagers who often display it with great pride. It can be eaten as it has quite a pleasant taste (so I’m told). This habit can cause others to express feelings of disgust.

“What’s that on the end of Fred’s finger?”
“Yuck it’s a pug!”
“He’s not going to eat it is he?”
“Yes I think he probably is”

Stands for "Person of unspecified gender".

A cute nickname to call someone when you first get to know them and before you ask for their pronouns. It only works if you explain it to people after you say what it is. It also only works if you use it for both cisgender-assumed and transgender-assumed individuals (maybe a good segue to ask the right person for their pronouns). If you call someone a pug and you hold transphobic viewpoints, it's no longer a cute nickname. I just made this up and thought it was funny
