A noob is someone who either a) has been playing a game or doing something for a long time and still just doesn't get it or is horrible b) Has been playing a game for a short period of time and asks questions that the answers are in plain view (yes, sometimes 'noob' and 'newbie' cross paths.
a) 'This noob is posting chain mail, thinking he's going to get a free ipod!'
