ye

A slang term used in areas of Ireland and certain parts of Britain such as Scotland and Wales. Used as a casual, collective noun to adress a group of people.
Other words with the same meaning include: y'all, yis, you's, and you guys.
Not to be confused with the term 'ye', a slang term for yes or definitely.

The word 'yere' is the possessive pronoun of ye.
"Are ye going to his party later tonight" Tom asked his friends.

"Here are yere drinks" said the barman to the group of men.

Origin unknown, but probably German where it has the same meaning.
A fragment that translates as 'this' in the phrase "it was this big", usually accompanied by a hand action signifying the size of the object being talked about."
