The M9 are Long Island railroad and metro-north’s new sets of EMUs built by the Japanese company Kawasaki (who are known for their bikes and atvs). They entered service in 2019. feature external public address speakers and electronic destination signs on the sides of the car, as well as automated announcements and interior LED displays that show the current station, the following station, and the train's destination. Their speakers and automated announcement are improved making it easier to listen unlike the previous trains on LIRR’s fleet. These trains replaced the M1/M3’s what were build by the Budd Company in the 70s and 80s

On my ride on the Lirr to Penn station on their new Kawasaki M9 trains it was like heaven, the seats are nice, the announcements are soo easy to hear, and the interior looks so good especially with the TV screens. And it was really an awesome ride when a sexy girl was sitting next to me, untill when we reached Jamaica and a weird ass guy sits in front of me and watching nasty Pornhub on his tablet and it gross my ride afterwards.
