Fake Experts are highly qualified individuals who don't have relevant expertise to speak about certain issues but do so anyway. Because their qualifications are generally valued, their relevance to an issue can be commonly overlooked.

Uncle Frank: Tucker Carlson said that Vaccines are designed to genetically alter humans into mindless chimpanzees! The damn Communists are gonna use it to take over!
Henry: Damnit Uncle Frank. Just because Tucker Carlson is a newscaster, doesn't mean he's qualified to talk about vaccines! He's a fake expert, and shouldn't be trusted as a reliable news source.

In football when a ball carrier is well beyond the line of scrimmage and a defensive player is closing in to tackle him. The ball carrier proceeds to pretend to throw a pass by lifting his head and cocking his arm back even though he definitely cannot throw a pass hoping to get the defender to jump up and block the pass.
