Earthbound Halloween Hack

A Halloween ROM Hack fan sequel based on Earthbound by Toby Fox. It was made before Undertale. In the hack you play as Varik, a bounty hunter hired to traverse the now spooky world of Earthbound in order to track down Dr. Andonuts for his crimes after Ness and his friends didn't return from the past when defeating Giygas. The hack hasn't aged well in recent times with parts of the story being overly edgy and the final boss using the f slur, leading to Toby Fox disowning it. The Halloween Hack is also where the hit song Megalovania was first heard and there are some references in the hack that would later be reused for Undertale and Deltarune.

Person 1: "Hey Toby, remember that Earthbound Halloween Hack you made?"

Toby Fox: "Never speak to me again."

Earthbound Halloween Hack

Earthbound Halloween Hack is a game (an earthbound hack) created by Toby "Radiation" Fox using the program PK hack in 2009 for a Starmen.net's Halloween Funfest. Its protagonist, Varik, comes from another game called Brandish. In short, Varik is given a mission to hunt down the moster that killed the girl's parents during night. The hack is overwhelmingly hard and requires a lot of grinding, and Toby himself is not fond of it. In his deleted twitter post, he called it a "Bad romhack with swears" and asked to not bring it up.

I myself would highly recommend everyone to play it, as this is an opportunity to see how greatly Toby advanced as a writer, compositor and game developer since then.

"I grinded to level 6 and I still can't beat ANYONE! Why is it so hard?!"

Irish Hello

A hasty arrival to a gathering made without previously confirming attendance or without invite with the intent to be cheeky or a rabble rouser. An Irish Hello is most common among groups of friends and old man sports clubs where competition and camaraderie are most valued.

Joe pulled an Irish Hello at happy hour wearing a beard and telling soccer jokes. The entire group was flabbergasted.

When you show up unannounced both at a delightfully appropriate time and place, and things somehow work out despite every reason they shouldn't.

Man me and the boys were down south building houses, and we wanted to go to the strip club. It was 10am but we gave them the Irish hello. "This is a strip club, it's 10 in the morning. We're closed" "Well, we're here!" "Okay fine let me make a phone call".
