megatokyo effect

The name for the downturn almost all webcomics suffer from when they start out wacky and absurd and slowly turn annoying, serious and soap opera esque.

Named after the now crappy webcomic Megatokyo.

I used to love reading Johnny the Squirrel because of all the jokes and references, but now the megatokyo effect took hold and it's about the cartoonist's girl problems now.

greenhouse effect

the cumulative effect of 200-odd years of industrialisation and thinking that we're (the human race) smart. Fossil fuels should be banned!

If we're so smart at using dirty fuels and creating the greenhouse effect, we can be smart enough to use solar energy like the plants do and reverse the greenhouse effect.
