It refers to an individual who identifies as gay but grew up in a rural area where there was limited exposure to openly gay individuals. As a result, nuggets often form their perceptions of how a gay person should behave based on stereotypical sources, leading them to adopt exaggerated mannerisms and behaviors typically associated with flamboyant, catty, or feminine gay stereotypes.

Person A: "Have you met Jake? He's so over-the-top flamboyant and dramatic!"
Person B: "Yeah, I've noticed that. He's a nugget, grew up in a small town where being gay was not common. I guess he adopted those behaviors from media and stereotypical portrayals."
Usage:
"I'm not sure if he's naturally flamboyant or if he's just a nugget trying to fit into the gay stereotype."
