A phenomenon where one becomes ill after attending a comic book convention or fan convention. Because if go to an indoor event with 100,000 attendees; someone's going to be sick. It is a play on "Bird Flu".

I wore a mask way before COVID. I'd get nerd flu every year after Con.

This can also be used to define people simply obsessed with death & dying (Goth lifestyles) or in professional settings (such as the Medical field or Mortuary practices.)
