D-Day File

An off-site file, thumb drive, or backup server with highly sensitive information to be used in the event of litigation, hostile work environment, EEOC claim, termination, a drop-dead-date, deadline or death. Information that is usually used by a whistleblower or other insider to seek justice or self-protection from incrimination by association. Also referred to as plan b, a burn file, or a scorched earth policy.
The Watergate scandal had insider information from Deep Throat. He provided detailed information on corruption within the Presidential Administration.

It is presumed that Lois Lerner, who is seeking immunity, has a D-Day File, now that the IRS has destroyed evidence in the IRS corruption scandal.
