Outdoors, the night falls in heavy sheets and pipes down in layers of tissue paper across the sky. They come in gradients, yellows to oranges, oranges to pinks, pinks to reds, reds to purples, purples to blue, blue to black. The third layer of blue is heavy in the windows, trees take on the silhouettes of spruce pines in black silence. And the ground is almost black. And you know, I see indirectly, the physical world at its finest. The way it presents to me is opposing of glass, its all sturdy and opaque, and it’s as thoroughly so as milk; and a thousand gallons of milk won’t stop a stranger's hand from getting to you.
