To pull a Marta

To pull a Marta means to leave someone on read for 10+ hours while leaving the other person in total dispair. The term had it's origin in a romantic context but is also commonly used among friends.

exemple of "to pull a Marta" in a conversation:
person 1: wow I'm so sorry, i overslept and forgot to reply to you...

person 2: yeah and you left me on read, you pulled a Marta on me, how dare you!

Pulling a Bridget happens when someone pays for everyone's bill at the pub and gives the waiter a crazy large tip.

Below is an example of Pulling a Bridget:

Person: I'll take the bill for my table, please.
Server: Your bill has been taken care of.

Person: What, really? Who paid!? May I leave you a tip?
Server: You can if you want to, but please know that your friend pulled a Bridget.

'Pulling a Belle'

'Pulling a Belle' is where one gets into a relationship for the sole purpose of not wishing to be mean. When one does not particularly like or is attracted to the other person but does not want to hurt their feelings. It is often convenient for the 'Belle' (so to speak,) although it often results in heart break for the other member of the relationship, whose feelings are genuine.

"Come on, he is a total freak...don't pull a Belle."
"I think you guys are moving a little fast, you're pulling a bit of a Belle...you should slow down and consider if you even like him."
"Is it just me, or are you totally 'Pulling a Belle' right now!?"

Going away for a long, long (>3 hours) time when you say you're only going to be away for a very short time (e.g. 10-30 minutes).
