An airplane song is a song that would sound really good to listen to on a plane. These songs have a nostalgic vibe (regardless of the age or relevance of the song) and feel memorable and free-flowing. They also have a nighttime vibe. They are neither super upbeat nor a sad ballad. Surprisingly, many popular pop songs go under this category. Some well-known examples include:

airplane mode FOMO

Similar to "flight mode FOMO", this term refers to the ability to abstain from watching YouTube during flights as you must put your smartphone (and tablet) on airplane mode whilst still being unable to abstain from watching YouTube outside flights.

Every time I board a plane, I experience serious airplane mode FOMO, knowing I can't watch my favorite YouTube videos while still scrolling through my playlist for hours after landing.
