In the corperate world, with deadlines to meet, stress from higher up the tree, Training exercises, and all the other dangers of Cubicle life there is no way to chill out or relieve this stress. one way found was to set up a single half-hour
out of every month for a sort of social event. A sort of icecream social but using cakes instead. You had a chance to talk to a neighbor and hang out with your manager but without having to worry about your progress report.
It could also be sort of a cake potluck

Other than working, if the woman you're dating isn't available on this day (Red Flag) you ask her for a date night on Valentines Day. If she agrees you can move forward but if she isn't available then either you know exactly where you stand.
In healthy relationship both of these days are are typically spent together.
You can confidently move on and stop being a meal ticket when it's likely using you.
It shouldn't be perceived as a sad day but instead a productive day to know where you stand in regards to dating her.
