Example, if you discover an obscure song on Youtube but the next day you hear it on the radio. The tilde effect is named what it is, due to Samuel not previously not knowing the name of a tilde (~). But soon after his friend told him what it was called, he heard people no longer call it a squiggly, but a tilde.

This usually ends in disappointment as the powerful/unique items are then never used but the game is still won in a more difficult manner using the weaker and useless items.
