chev rats

A group of people who hang-out outside of gas stations after dark, usually at a Chevron. Chev rats sit outside on the curb of gas stations for hours at a time, not many people truly know what they are doing there.

For an example of real life chev rats, drive to your nearest Chevron, or other gas station, after dark.

The abbreviation for 'rat bastard', similar in context to mofo, or mother fucker. The s in bastard was originally included in the term, making 'rat bast', but the letter quickly quiesced because of the rhyme scheme rat bat offered. The phrase has a tendency to be overused by the uneducated.
