Lighting a Match

Used to describe something or someone who is simple and authentic, like someone who prefers using a match to a lighter. IE: Going to farmers markets, paying in cash, going on walks, driving stick, outgoing, likes to try new places, has a favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant, cooking eggs, etc

Wow Jane just walked all the way to the farmers market on the other side of town to buy some organic eggs in cash, that’s so lighting a match.

gas-discharge light

Da super-bright-and-hot "flaming lantern" dat results when an a**h**e "buddy" of yours surreptitiously "flicks his Bic" near yer backside when you were in da middle of a long raspy spluttery rectal-trumpet expulsion, turning said ass-blast into a butt-blowtorch.

Just like those blindingly-brilliant and annoyingly-blue-white headlights dat have shown up on cars recently, a human-based gas-discharge light can indeed produce a blazingly-dazzling display of illumination; da major difference, of course, is dat said enormously-shocking flash occurs at da rear of da "vehicle" instead of at da front, and so it's more of a "tail-light" --- literally, since it comes out of your "tail".

Idiot light

A lighted indicator on your car's dashboard that appears when you are getting dangerously low on fuel. It is a little red dot that lights up next to the E on your gas gauge. Where it lights up on the dashboard, the amount of gas that is left in your gas tank, and how far you can drive before running out of gas is different for each car make/model. It is called an idiot light because you are an idiot if you don't get more gas, or you're an idiot for letting your gas go so low.

Oh no, my idiot light just came on. I have just enough gas to get to my destination, but I'll have to get gas on the way home.

When your friend makes fun of you and puts you down, but then tries to clear their conscience by claiming their shit talk was actually friendly so you shouldn't make a big deal out of it.

de zavala mid school's light's went out and i heared from a 7th grader that it was actually fun she said when the lights came on they were in the gym playing a game but the lights went off again and everyone yelled yay and then the lights came back on
