If you have some grace and musical talent(not all guards have this, but ours do and 80% of us play all sorts of musical instruments{most are 1st-3rd out of 5 or more chairs in Concert/Symphonic Band/Choir/Orchestra/Guitar class in their section or have ability to be in more than two instrument sections} and WE GOT RHYTHM AND EXPRESSION like no one's business... kinda required from everyone...lol) then good for your guard.
WE ARE NOT CHEERLEADERS/TWIRLERS. In order for our school's cheerleading team to "look" good while performing, they need to have certain and various amounts of body control, balance, muscle, body awareness, timing, and smiles. These are not hard once you get them down but these are NOT EASY either. NOT ALL GUARDS HAVE THIS but ours do- according to this at some level, we get along with the cheerleaders and we appreciate each other.
Twirlers... I have no exact idea who they are so i can't judge them...
All i know is that twirlers twirl.

Get the High School Colorguard (Marching Band) Def. Part 4mug. A fun activity (except for the month of August and Wednesday nights) during high school where you will have a lot of fun memories. Except when the band director and/or the field commanders yell at you.
1. A large group of people that are all family.
2. Just because the football players aren't playing football during half-time doesn't mean they aren't playing anything during half-time some football players are also part of the marching band!
3. What happens on the band bus ALWAYS stays on the band bus.
4. Freshman year is the WORST year of marching band.
5. The band director will NEVER call you by your real name if you are an underclassmen
6. When the band director says one more time it means: we're staying here until it is perfect.
7. This one time, at band camp....
8. Your arms get tired of holding up that instrument.
9.Uniforms: sometimes comfortable, sometimes not. Hat: always will be annoying.
10. Field commanders will always have the best looking uniform!
11. Have a good memory you will be memorizing a lot of music.
12. Last one. Have fun during band it's a really fun experience!

Get the The Spartan Legion Marching Bandmug. 1. Either one of the best things you ever done or the biggest regret you did in your life, no in between.
2. Money who, you are probably going to be broke by the end of the season from all the money they ask for .
3. You will gain trust issues especially when your band director tells you one more time and you know damm well it's not one more time it' s a billion more.
4. Its also a cult full of pervs and some bitchy people here and there but also decent people as well.
5. You have a love-hate relationship for it XD.
6. Horrible tan lines.
7. Probably lied to ditch rehearsal at least ones .
