Something so awful that even knowing it will put someone at risk for being unable to learn and develop beyond their current level with regards to the subject, and in severe cases can actually cause a regression of knowledge on the subject.

When used with regards to things other than knowledge, refers to something just so beyond awful that there are no other words one can find to describe it.

That podcast was subhazardous to my understanding of String Theory.

Watching that movie with them was a subhazardous experience, I'm never going to put myself in that situation again.
