The middle-aged white lady at a low-budget store (think Walmart) who mistakes you for an employee, then threatens to "have you fired" when you won't do your job. The only way to stop her is by calling Security or the police and having her physically removed from the store.

Yesterday a Karen thought I worked at the store where I was stopping and wanted me to do HER shopping. When I refused she started screaming and Security had to drag her sorry ass out the door and ban her for life!

A "Karen" is a person that thinks their opinion matters more than everyone else's, and enforces their civil liberities and rights regardless of anyone else's that they may trample. A Karen voices their opinion in the firm belief that they speak for the entire group (if there is one involved), and is certain that Freedom of Speech also entitles them to freedom from consequences of said speech. Karens are steadfast guardians and operators of the Rumor Mill; engaging in, subtly encouraging, and frequently fabricating gossip whilst simultaneously denying any culpability when found guilty of doing so. The Masculine term, when the need to differentiate gender arises, is a "Brad".
