Great band. The definitions seem the same after a while, you'd think that some crazy psyco bitch went on an "I hate MCR" rampage and posted more than one. They are NOTHING like good charelote, and deserve more credit than to be called "emo pussies" Don't judge a band by the stupid fans who don't know anything about them. "Helena" and "I'm Not OK" are ok songs, but there are definately better songs than these on their cd's (as in two, not just three cheers for sweet revenge) The song "Our lady of Sorrows" if great, as is "Vampires will never hurt You", "Demolition Lovers", and "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville"

Get the My Chemical Romancemug. 1.A great band, fronted by a man called Gerard Way, who don't deserve the crap that retards throw at them. They are NOT poseurs because they do NOT classify themselves as any type of rock when they really aren't. (For an example of poseur look up Avril Lavigne or Ashlee Simpson.) They actually classify themselves as "pop". Does that spell poseur to you?

Get the My chemical romancemug. My Chemical Romance is a band from New Jersey, whom grew up on the same types of music as your parents. Social Distortion, KISS, Queen, David Bowie, Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister; things that were big in the times that they were kids. What makes them "emo" or "goth"? Because they have a particular liking to the color black or morbid objects and themes? Bullshit. That just makes them a tad dark, not "emo fags who whine about how their lives suck". If you say that, you're a dumbshit. Gerard himself, as have the rest of the band, have said numerous times that they aren't emo, nor goth. If anything, if we were to label them, they would be violent pop or violent alternative music.
Gerard and Bert are not dating, nor have they ever. In fact, they aren't even friends anymore. They are just two guys who met while playing and singing the things that they love. What makes them different from every other rock band? If you think that Twisted Sister or KISS are "great rock bands", and think that My Chemical Romance is a "gay, fag-like band" because of the fact that they wear make up--then you're a retard. Ever heard of HAIR METAL? Or SEEN the make up KISS wears!
Frank is not "gay for Gerard". He's engaged, for heaven's sake! Just because they give slight pecks-of-a-kiss does not make them a gay couple. It's for jokes and giggles, and for the fans because that's what they want. THAT, and it's a free country to be bisexual, so saying, "I would date Gerard," should be okay and not "offensive". But, same as before, with the make up and the hair metal statement; bands like KISS and such played on fans' very emotions like that, too. Watch a live preformance, or something.
Have you ever seen them live? I have. Gerard himself talks about this subject on why people try to label them emo. They're doing what they love to do, play their own music. Who cares if it's dark? "Good rock" and "punk" talks about getting shitfaced and having sex, the government and death. Get over yourselves if you think they're emo. They're not. They're just guys doing what they love.
And, you know what? Listen to the "good" rock bands talk on interviews, and such. Listen to them and their theories about modern day rock bands. I've heard several about My Chemical Romance, and they were all good. GOOD! They don't have a problem with them, so why do you?

Maybe a tad more make up depending on if you were a fan of KISS or Twisted Sister, or Scorpion, but that's about it. Get over yourselves. If you don't like them, don't listen to them.

Get the My Chemical Romancemug. An Alt. Rock/Post hardcore band from New Jersey. Often abreviated to 'mcr' or 'My chem.' Cops a lot of flak for no paticular reason. Constantly labled Goth, emo etc. just because a few of the band members have Black hair and wear small amounts of makeup. They aren't the same as Simple Plan or Good Charlette who bitch about how crap their lives are. Their songs have moving, almost poetic lyrics.
Most haters base their opinions entirely on 'I'm not okay' which, whilst not a bad song, is definetly not their best. Check out something more like 'Thank you for the venom' or 'Headfirst for halos'.

They are inspired by bands such as Iron Maiden Anthrax Bouncing Souls and their first cd was produced by Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly. Although My Chemical Romance (often abbreviated as MCR)is becoming mainstream and being attacked by lame teenies who only like MCR because they think Gerard or Frank are hot, they still perservere and have performed with Punk forefathers Green Day, Alkaline Trio, Reggie and the Full Effect, Avenged Sevenfold, and The Used. Get the My Chemical Romancemug. The Real MCR: A very good band that is absolutely NOT emo. They have never claimed to be. Their lyrics are very deep, and thus MCR can appeal to a wide range of listeners.
