Invite Competition

A challenge seen on some Discord servers where members compete to bring in the most new invites to a server, typically with rewards like special roles, perks, or prizes for whoever recruits the most people. Often used to grow the community quickly.
Yo, our server just launched an invite competition! Whoever brings in the most new members by the end of the week gets VIP access and a custom role!

Technicality invite

1. Wanting to invite a friend to an event and having to invite his/her boyfriend/girlfriend aswel, even if you don't want the significant other there.

2. Inviting somebody to an event when you desperately don't want them there in order to appear like the better person. This usually requires quite a bit of "down-playing".

Circumstantial invite

When someone is invited to something on an underlying circumstance. Meaning the person additionally invited was not originally invited. Could also be considered a “pity invite.” Is usually close to last minute and aimed at lessening the cost of the trip for people already going. Always decline the invites as a sign of asserting dominance—if you weren’t originally invited then your presence isn’t truly desired.
“Do you want to go to the beach house with all of us next weekend? Two of the eight people backed out, so we have two extra spots”

“Idk man, sounds like a circumstantial invite.”

The small amount of political capital you gain for inviting someone to a social function who is unable to attend.
