Food used to aid recovery after drinking huge amounts of beer or other types of alcohol.

Steak and Shake, McDonalds serve as reasonable "sponges" but Chip Butty (translated - English style French Fry Sandwich) is the perfect "Beer Sponge".

Fun sponge

A person or group of people, who take an activity so seriously and or literally, that they squeeze every last drop of joy out of it.

Can be appropriately applied to cyclists who spend 10K+ on their bikes, clearly don't enjoy what they're doing and live for looking down on those with 'lesser' equipment.

"Did you see those Joe Serious bellends shaking their heads and tutting?"

1. Amo Sponge: Typically the guy who has atleast a 1 kill to 100 deaths ratio for various reasons in a video game.
A. he's a n00b
B. he screwed up his controller and can't shoot.
C. he's the @hole ever1 hates but loves to shoot at.

2. The Amo Sponge typically is used for target practice when let loose in the world of video gaming. It's also not uncommon for the amo sponge to be fed generous amounts of "tea bag" in one round.
