Have an on purpose

When you have an accident, you crash your car because you were an idiot or were not paying enough attention.

When you have an on-purpose, you crash your car on purpose. There is no accident, rather, this was a deliberate, calculated, action.
That driver in that junker car is about to have an on purpose with that rich guy he is pissed off at. He has little to lose.

Schrödinger’s Purpose

Schrödinger's Purpose is the act of coming up with a justification or explanation for something after its completion.

It involves attaching meaning beyond the original intent to make something seem deeper or to mask laziness.

As long as you can make it sound good you can hide a rush job by making it sound intentional and well thought out.
An example of Schrödinger’s Purpose is using a fancy sounding artist statement to justify not having added colour or shading to your drawing. “ The simple black and white represents the polarity of the potential paths of the future” etc etc.

“Ugh I don’t want to do that art assignment”
“Just Schrödinger’sPurpose it”
What do you mean?”
“Just draw whatever you want, and come up with a way it relates to the project after you’re done”
“Good idea

False Purpose Fallacy

A fallacy and bias where two or more oppressive or repressive systems, institutions, or practices are treated as fundamentally incomparable solely because of their stated or intended purpose, despite producing identical or functionally equivalent harms. The fallacy lies in substituting intent for impact, purpose for consequence. When someone argues that CECOT prison in El Salvador "doesn't compare" to Sednaya prison in Syria because one is for "rehabilitation" (or "fighting gangs") while the other was for political repression, they commit the False Purpose Fallacy—as if the experience of the prisoner, the deprivation of liberty, the violence of the state, and the suffering of the confined were somehow different because the official justification differs. Similarly, when Western AI surveillance is distinguished from authoritarian surveillance because "we're protecting democracy" while "they're controlling dissent," the same fallacy operates: the purpose stated differs, but the surveillance functions similarly. The fallacy is false because purpose does not negate parallel function; good intentions do not transform oppressive machinery into something else; stated goals do not alter lived experience.
Example: "He insisted CECOT wasn't comparable to Sednaya because El Salvador was 'fighting gangs' while Syria was 'crushing dissent'—pure False Purpose Fallacy, as if prisoners experience their cages differently based on the press releases justifying their imprisonment."

Purpose Bias

A cognitive bias where you perceive two or more things that are functionally identical, structurally similar, or practically equivalent as fundamentally different solely because their intended purposes differ. It's the mental shortcut that makes a luxury handbag feel like a "wise investment" while an identical unbranded bag is "frivolous spending." The same knife in a kitchen is a "tool" but in a pocket is a "weapon." A loud car exhaust is "performance" on a sports car but "noise pollution" on a beat-up sedan. Purpose Bias shapes how we judge, categorize, and value objects, actions, and even people based on what we believe they're for, rather than what they actually are. In daily life, it's why we excuse our own harsh words as "honest feedback" while condemning others' identical words as "verbal abuse"—same statement, different purpose, completely different judgment. The bias lies in treating purpose as a magical property that transforms the very nature of things, rather than as one attribute among many.
Example: "He called his own constant phone checking 'staying connected' but his partner's identical behavior 'addiction'—pure Purpose Bias, seeing the same action as completely different based solely on whose purpose he assumed."
