Musicals

A great thing on this good green earth. One of the most entertaining enjoyable things to watch or be apart of. They are very wonderful no matter what there about. You could write a musical about potatoes and watch it and enjoy it. I myself watched a musical about a white boy gang and a Mexican gang that ballet danced in Brooklyn. I loved it

Musicals are my forth favorite thing in the universe!

Musical Epiphany

Having a musical epiphany is when you hear a song or band that completely alters or redefines your current music tastes. It will make you rethink nearly every musical decision you've ever made up to this point.

EX: Last night Jon and I went to a Get Back Loretta concert, and when the guitarist starting playing, I had a musical epiphany.

EX: I had a musical epiphany when an old Beastie Boys song came on the radio that I never heard before - changed my life.

musichead

Someone who is an avid music listener. They listen to music ALL the time, and usually are the type of people who know about the latest music. Also they are always trying to put you on a new artist, etc. They also just don't listen to music, they know why the artist wrote the song, what it means, etc. They also are somewhat of a music critic too. It started in Baltimore, vice versa the meaning for sneakerhead. I thought if sneaker lovers had a word & definition, then so should music lovers !

Steve: Did you hear Kendrick Lamar's Section.80?
Diana: No, I don't even know who that is!
Steve: Well you should!!!
Diana: Steve, your such a musichead!

Mainstream music

Commercialized music that is extremely popular among people. Depending on the generation, mainstream music may be great or it may be garbage. As of the 2000's, mainstream has been garbage. Even more recently, Pop and generic rock music has overtaken Rap music, and the mainstream is at it's apex of garbage.

Mainstream music is contantly shat out by Hollywood, and what is considered piping hot now will be forgotten in a few years. For example, all of the boy-bands popular in the late 1990's to early 2000's are nowhere to be seen.

You can find many shat-out artists such as Lady Gaga plastered all over the Myspace home page.

Mainstream music is mainstream when Hollywood says it is.

music elitism

A general disdain and hatred for any and all music other than whatever is is the music elitist listens to.

Usually practiced by, but not limited to, scenesters. Although there are many examples. Everybody knows at least one.

A: Dude, have you heard the new Metallica single?

B: They suck, everyone knows that Thrice is the only good band ever

A: Orly?

A: This music is crap!

B: Whatever, man. What do you listen to?

A: I only listen to hip hop. Everything else is crap.

B: That's total music elitism. Jerk.
