Magnum Opus Syndrome

Noun

A condition suffered by writers and creators, making them view their current work as a masterpiece in the making, despite them not having the required expertise.
This delusion often leads to the work being loaded with excessive seriousness, shallow philosophical rhetoric, and oversized themes it has not earned. The result is a work that insists on its own importance, framing ordinary material as profound and universal.
I couldn’t finish the novel. It was 300 pages of a barista explaining free will. Magnum opus syndrome much?

Magnam Opus

The Latin meaning for "Great Work". Usually meaning the greatest, most popular, pinnacle, or most renowned achievement of an artist, artist or composer. Or a "masterpiece"

Albiet in the case of George R.R. Martin, this refers to a big fat lazy and stinky turd (sometimes whistling in the wind for at least 8 years).
George R.R. Martin choked on a roasted water chestnut and died, leaving his Magnam Opus in his undergarments.

magnumous

An adjective that holds more power than a word such as “great” or “grand,” but that is not as meaningful as a word such as “magnificent” or “extraordinary,” for example; almost like a middle ground between the two. It can also refer to something or a number of things that are notably large in number.
The detailed report was absolutely magnumous, and the team’s few weeks of hard work was clear in the amazing final product.

As a result of the unusually magnumous amount of rain going on recently, Susie’s ceiling has been leaking.
