Refers to a light-skinned or blonde individual. Not necessarily a Caucasian.

Originated in Mexico and is primarily used by Mexicans and rarely/never used by other Spanish-speaking nations.

- Ese güero tiene piel clara y pelo rubio.

- That güero has a light complexion & blonde hair.

He can burn the shit out of anyone in a race, even though he retired. Güero

It pretty much means "white person". It doesn't necessarily mean caucasion. If you're Mexican with light skin you may be nicknamed "Güero" for a boy, or "Güera" for a girl. If you have Spanish speaking friends and they say something like "hey güero" it means like "whats up white buddy". If there's some Spanish speaking person that doesn't like you or any white people and says something like "I hate that pinche güero" it may be used as a rude and possibly racist way. Güero isn't a racist or bad word at all, as long as you say it with a positive tone and you dont sound like a jerk.

"¡Qué onda güero!" -What's up white boy!
"Le odio al pinche güero Jack." -I hate the freakin white boy Jack.

guero

I got a lot of this when I taught in East LA. Best usage appears to be "blondy". It wasn't used much in a derogatory sense. I had to learn take it as harmless. He's tall, he's blond, he's a guero. Just descriptive.

Insisting that it be spelled with a diaeresis or trema is absurd. Sometimes "guerro".
