greenshame

(v.) The act of making someone feel guilty about their non-environmental choices, often used as a passive-aggressive tactic to resist change or avoid responsibility. Particularly common in corporate settings where environmental concerns are weaponized against employee wellbeing.

The office manager totally greenshamed us when we asked for proper ergonomic chairs. She made everyone sign a form acknowledging that "our choice was harming the planet" before ordering them. Like, my back health matters too, Karen.
