An umbrella term for genders outside of the stereotyped gender binary. (Agender, bigender, Genderfluid, polygender, demi, etc.)
1 Vae uses she/he pronouns because she is bigender. He is considered to be under the nonbinary umbrella.
2 Oliver feels a lack in any gender at all, they have concluded they are agender. This puts Oliver under the nonbinary umbrella.

someone who isn't on the gender binary - they don't identify as male nor female. pronouns are usually they/them, and no it's not a fucking mental illness. it's not a term used by "special snowflakes" or "girls who want to feel special". sorry but it just be like that sometimes.

A nonbinary person is someone whose gender is neither female nor male. Nonbinary people can have a variety of gender identities and gender expressions, and nonbinary is not a single gender. Nonbinary people are often trans. Nonbinary people often use they/them pronouns but often use other pronouns. Sometimes nonbinary is written with a hyphen (non-binary).
