Take a toothpick to it

Meaning if it is easy and accessible to try and fix your own things, or DIYing a solution before going to (if at all) professional assistance. Typically because the professionals are very expensive or a hassle.

Comes from trying to fix technology and other of the sort with small things that everyone has, such as toothpicks, because getting it professionally fixed is very expensive, and you might as well try.

John: man, my car is really acting up, but I can’t afford to take it in to the shop right now.
Emily: dude, just take a toothpick to it.

Sara: my phone speakers were absolutely trash earlier, but I took a toothpick to them and now they sound fine!

Eric: dammit, I need stitches but the American healthcare system is hell

The Helen tooth

The Helen tooth is a phenomenon that affects a small minority of the population. It is characterised by a typically uncomfortable and sometimes painful tingling/floating sensation in the teeth or gums when the individual needs to urinate and/or dedicate and may result in extreme relief once the person has done so. In some people, it may occur only, or more extremely after ignoring bathroom urges for a prolonged period. At this time it has no known cause.

Visit from the tooth fairy

A threat for surprise retribution at a later date for an earlier transgression that usually results in the instigator missing teeth. Similar threats include "watch your back" or "you'll get yours". The notion of the saying is that retribution will happen suddenly when the instigator least expects it, such as sleeping and their teeth are placed under their pillow. The saying is otherwise used broadly to mean any level of revenge.

Someone does another person wrong or victimizes them, the victim may say "Watch yourself! You're gonna get a visit from the tooth fairy!"

Or used to dispel concern by others that retribution is going to be made "They're gonna see the tooth fairy, don't worry about it."
