The northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is a songbird that is known for its bright red plumage in males. It can be found in many habitats, including urban parks, deciduous forests, and backyards. It is common in the eastern United States and Midwest, and extends into Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

When you're wedged in traffic and surrounded by all cars and you can't get out.

While stuck in rush hour traffic, I was cardined by all the shitty drivers in Los Angeles. It's much safer to be completely stopped on the freeway, ya know, no problems here, just cardined.

The Cardinal is a drink consisting of red wine, Cherry Sourz and a dash of tabasco sauce. Made famous by Colin "The Cardinal" Hill each element is red to represent the fact Cardinal is actually a reddy colour. It is often consumed with milk and bread.
