The reason behind the name "Friday" is that workers typically had a long week, are tired, and are looking forward to the weekend... therefore, they are a lot more careless with the construction of the vehicle, lending to it's numerous problems.

Get the swallow fridaymug. Blue Friday is a Seattle Seahawks tradition created a couple years ago where all fans are supposed to wear their favorite Seahawks gear on Fridays to support the team. Originally it was for game day Fridays, but now it's EVERY Friday during the regular season.
